Best Date Nights in Downtown San Diego

If you’re searching for romantic date night ideas, look no further than Downtown San Diego. Many people travel here for a romantic experience with their spouse or partner, so as a downtown resident, you have the opportunity for endless romantic date nights. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Dine Out at a Romantic Restaurant

Sapphire Tower San Diego is situated close to dozens of downtown restaurants. Some of the more romantic choices you might select include The Grape, Candelas Restaurant, Sevilla, Croce’s Restaurant & Jazz Bar, The Prado at Balboa Park and Rei Do Gado. Make the evening more romantic by dressing your best and ordering wine with dinner.

Go Out for Dessert

If you’re not hungry enough for dinner, enjoy dessert for your romantic date in downtown San Diego. Try Extraordinary Desserts, a dessert shop open until 11 p.m. Try a sweet dish with passion fruit, white chocolate or a slice of cake.

Rent a Horse-Drawn Carriage

A carriage ride on a nippy evening is the perfect excuse to cuddle. Relax to the sound of steadily pounding hooves and watch the scenery slowly pass by as you hold hands with your loved one. There are multiple locations to enjoy your carriage ride, including along the coast and through Balboa Park.

Spend an Evening on the Beach

Pack a picnic dinner and enjoy the rhythmic sound of the waves as you enjoy your meal together. Walk along the beach, making footprints in the sand that are quickly engulfed by the oncoming waves. Time it right so you can enjoy a spectacular sunset over the Pacific Ocean. Bring a camera and document your romantic evening together on the coast.

Each of these ideas for romantic date nights is easily accessible to residents of Sapphire Tower Dan Diego, a luxury high-rise San Diego set in the heart of downtown. 1. One of my favorite things to do on a date in San Diego is to drive up a hill until we can find a nice place to pull over and look at the view of the ocean. San Diego is perfect for this because it’s so hilly. There are great spots to do this in La Jolla, Pacific Beach, and Point Loma. There are even views that allow you to see the ocean all the way from East County. My girlfriend was super surprised when I showed her Coronado Bridge from a view in La Mesa :-)
