The San Diego Chapter of the California Restaurant Association (CRA) is hosting this year’s Restaurant Week San Diego, scheduled for September 18-23, 2011.  This event will support a good cause to help prevent students from dropping out and encourage them to graduate from high school.  Current statistics indicate that more than 20 percent of California’s students don’t stay in school long enough to complete 12^th grade.  A portion of the proceeds from your luxurious dining experience will go to the California Restaurant Association Education Foundation (CRAEF) to help keep kids in school.

There are 167 restaurants in San Diego will participate this year.  A few dozen of these are restaurants in downtown San Diego, including Greystone Steak House, Fred’s Mexican Café, Palm Restaurant, Oceanaire Seafood Room, and Merk Bistro Italiano.  No matter what kind of fare you are in the mood for, you will be able to satisfy your craving during Restaurant Week!  The wide variety of dining options includes bars and pubs, American cuisine, Italian food, seafood and sushi, Greek fare, Asian food, French cooking, Mexican restaurants, and more.
